I was excited to take these pictures, to be able to just take a photo of people being people. The first picture is a portrait of someone else, my sister, Kaycia. I took a picture of her doing something she does often. Taking pictures and snaps hearing a shutter in our house is impossible to avoid. The second picture that I took was a self portrait I tried to do something that would show some aspect of my personality. I really like art, any kind, but I used paint and let it fall from my hands. The last picture in this project is of my dog, Niko. He is a 6 year old Husky. In the picture I was trying to emphasize the color in his eyes because, most huskies have blue eyes and Niko's are brown, so its kind of special. 10 Comments The theme of my paper children is control. As a child and even in the years as a teenager, there is always someone telling you what to do. Someone is always telling you when to go, where to go, what to do, and how to do it. There may have even been times where you feel like a small paper person being moved around. My first picture is my paper person being dragged across the floor, being made to go some where. The second picture is one paper child being lifted away from the other, like she is being told to leave, or not to talk to that person. The last picture is one paper child being pushed toward another, like she is being told to associate herself with this person. Even though it looks like she doesn't have any interest in doing so. Beneath Your Beautiful Working with light and motion requires a careful balance. Not enough light and you won’t be able to see the lines, patterns, and circles formed. However if there is too much light, the lines will not be the only thing you see. The entire background will be lit up. The project is named beneath your beautiful because the idea was to listen to music while taking the pictures. The song that was playing while most of the pictures were taken is Beneath Your Beautiful by Labyrinth and Emli Sande. The first picture stood out because of the colors and layered look. The second had a very cool shape that reminds me of an hourglass. The third had sharp bright line that the other didn’t; they stand out from the background. Lastly the white lights twisted and turned that look like a spider web despite the small bit of pink in the back. Boys Will Be BoysMy project is titled Boys Will Be Boys. The theme is toys, I simply used any toys I could find in my brothers room. The first of the pictures is of a few Lego planes he built, and some Nerf darts that were lying around on the floor. They were arranged on his bed, the blue comforter used as a background. The blade of the hand built plane the focal point of the picture. The second picture is of his baseball gear that was shoved in the back of his closet. I arranged a bat, glove, and cleat on top of a wooden chest. The last of the pictures is an arrangement of his Xbox games, controller, and headset that I found his chair. I stacked and placed the objects on his orange recliner and used it as a background. All there of the pictures are connected by the room I found them in and the fact that they all belong to the same person, my brother. |
